Through the “Joan Ethier Women in Science Fund” EducationMatters is pleased to invite Grade 7-12 schools in the CBE to apply for a $1,000 grant. Music has the power to transcend communication challenges, elevate mood, and help to build relationships. It has measurable benefits in the general population, but its effects on individuals with cognitive impairments can be life-changing.

There may be snow on the ground and holiday jingles playing over the loudspeaker at the grocery store, but for some Calgary schools it’s beginning to look like a lot like Christmas for a different reason.

On May 9, 2018, EducationMatters launched our Fuel the Future event to raise awareness and dollars to support educational enrichments for students across Calgary. The event, held at the Calgary Board of Education Centre was busy, with 128 guests, students, and volunteers in attendance.
