The intent of the High Performance Athlete Development Pathway (HPAD) at Bowness High School is to promote athlete development by emphasizing the benefits of exposure to multi-sport, while developing well-roundedness as athletes. The HPAD pathway works to intentionally reduce barriers by providing student exposure to unique sport opportunities located at high performance training facilities led by highly qualified coaches. HPAD partners with the Canadian Sport Institute Calgary and together we work to deliver a completely unique program not found in any other school in Calgary. HPAD LEGACY PROGRAM
The Bowness High School community has benefitted greatly since the HPAD Pathway was introduced back in the 2016/2017 school year. We have attracted many dedicated student athletes to Bowness because of HPAD and we want to support the continued development of this group and program though the HPAD Legacy Program. We will raise funds for the following purposes.
- HPAD Financial Support Grant – Students facing financial barriers could apply for assistance to help pay program fees. HPAD is an inclusive program and we want to make sure all students have an opportunity to participate.
- HPAD Student Award – HPAD would like to recognize outstanding graduating students of the program and support them financially in their educational and athletic journeys beyond high school.
- Program Needs – long term projects that would focus on updating class materials and equipment.
