This scholarship was established to recognize and support students at Forest Lawn High that have demonstrated resiliency to overcome adversity and challenges during their high school career.

Field of Study
Open to students registered in grade 12 at Forest Lawn High School who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must have marks sufficient for entrance into their chosen program of post-secondary study.
Applicants are required to submit an essay or video outlining:
- The challenges/adversity you have overcome;
- How you have grown and learned from these challenges;
- How you will make the world a better place.
The essay must be no more than 500 words in length.
Selection will be based on the essay or video.
Online application available at www.educationmatters.ca. Applicants should check with their guidance office for more information and are encouraged to discuss their application with the Scholarship Coordinator at their high school.
Selection & Payment
Recipients will be notified by September. Selection will be made by a committee consisting of the donor and at least two representatives from EducationMatters. To claim the award, within one (1) year of notification of award the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study including vocational, apprenticeship, trades, technical or post-secondary institutions. Payment will be made to the post-secondary institution.
