EducationMatters Fall Granting program helps educators provide even more for their students than the available governmental funding allows. Teachers know their population of students best and are able to understand what supports and programs will help to fill the gaps in their classrooms; however, sometimes it is the availability of funding and materials that block the learning. Teachers apply to EducationMatters for financial support to help with enhancements that can truly advance learning in their class helping them close the gaps they identify.

Enhancements cover a variety of opportunities:

~ helping schools to expand literacy and numeracy programs,
~ providing supports for quality and imaginative fine, visual and performing arts opportunities
~ supplementing information in learning commons and integrating maker education
~ upgrading and adding supplementary and updated technology in the form of computing and digital equipment, workshop and lab upgrades
~ Career and life skills programming to help students envision potential pathways to adulthood
~ in the spirit of reconciliation, providing opportunities for Indigenous education for all students
~ supporting innovative professional development opportunities for our educators
~ assisting schools to participate in off-campus educational field trip opportunities when families or schools can’t provide additional costs
~ providing supports for food and basic needs for some of our most vulnerable students
~ programs and enhancements to help children with special and complex needs succeed in their learning
~ initiatives that help all students progress with, and learn about, health and wellness, including mental health supports
~ supports for research initiatives that can help lead change in the education system with proven results for the best programs and initiatives
