Who: You!

What: Join our board in helping advance education for Truth and Reconciliation.

When: The time is now. September 30 is a day for education, reflection, and support. We hope this will be the beginning of an ongoing learning opportunity for Calgary Board of Education students and our community.

Where: Our board is creating an Elder Honorarium Fund to assist schools that may be struggling with budgets to include the cost of Elders to help forward education, understanding, respect and healing for our students and Indigenous communities.

Why: EducationMatters believes that every child matters. Our young people are one of our greatest resources as we move towards Truth and Reconciliation, and we are committed to investing in opportunities to help them to learn, grow, and become the agents for change that our society needs to strengthen and evolve into a diverse, equitable and inclusive place to live for everyone.

The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation is a time to honour everyone impacted by the horrors of the residential school system, either directly or indirectly. Together we can shape the future by supporting our youth today.
