Eligibility

Open to students in Grade 12 who are enrolled in an appropriate program of study at Bowness High School and successfully graduate from the high school program. Applicants must have attained a GPA of not less than 65% during their final year of high school.

Applicants must display a positive attitude towards their studies and the school community, and applicants must demonstrate their commitment to future studies at post-secondary educational institutions. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Calgary, Alberta.

The recipients of these awards must be pursuing studies in any field of interest chosen by the recipient in a program of studies that awards a diploma, certificate or ticket. Degree programs MAY be considered.

Selection & Payment

Recipients will be selected by staff at Bowness High School, including a representative from EducationMatters and will be notified by September. To claim the award, within fifteen (15) months of high school graduation the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study of at least two years duration that awards a diploma, certificate or ticket. Payments will be made to the post-secondary institution.
