Eligibility

Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma and have achieved academic marks sufficient for entrance to a post-secondary area of study. Applicants must have demonstrated academic progress and have a minimum 75% GPA in grade 12. Applicants are required to submit an original essay, of approximately 500 words. The essay should reflect on: Why you are choosing dance as a field of study? and What you are hoping to accomplish by getting accreditation? Applicants are also asked to submit a video clip(s) up to 5 minutes in total length that includes a minimum of two genres of dance. Videos can be professional or amateur (i.e. cell phone videos are acceptable). Applicants are required to submit one letter of reference from a dance instructor. International fee-paying students are not eligible to apply for this award. Selection will be based on the essay, video, academics and references. Preference will be given to students pursuing post-secondary studies in dance (as a major or minor).

Selection & Payment

Recipients are selected by September . To claim the award, within eighteen (18) months of notification of award, the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study in Canada of at least two years duration . Payments are made to the post-secondary institution and will be made available to the student during the second semester of study upon confirmation of continued enrolment.
