By donating monthly, you can help us make long-term commitments to student success.
Grants and endowments
We work with donors to provide funding for programs and initiatives that go beyond government funding limitations. These grants empower schools to invest in essential resources that promote student success, help students achieve financial stability and lead fulfilling, healthy lives.
Text to donate
An easy way to donate to schools. Open your mobile phone’s messaging app and create a new text message.
- In the “To” field, type: 30333
- In the body of the text message, enter “EdMatters”, then when prompted, choose either $10 or $20, depending on your preference.
- Once you’ve composed your message, hit the “Send” button.
- Your donation will be added to your monthly mobile phone bill.
Gift matching
If your employer offers gift matching, you can choose EducationMatters as the recipient. We are already registered with most gift-match partners. If you use a gift-match portal, your tax receipt will not be issued by EducationMatters. It can take 4-6 weeks for us to receive a gift made through a third-party portal. Please agree to share your name and comments with EducationMatters so we can direct your gift appropriately.
Info for school councils
As the dedicated fundraising partner for the Calgary Board of Education, EducationMatters invests in empowering students to reach their full potential.
We do this by supporting basic needs such as school supplies and transit passes, extraordinary experiences including field trips and guest speakers, and materials that prepare students for the future through dual credit and exploratory classes.
There are three ways school councils or parent organizations can contribute to their child’s school:
Option 01
Direct Donation
Donate to EducationMatters so we can help support Calgary public school students with the experiences, materials and technology that help shape their futures. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
Option 02
School Fundraising Page
School councils, teachers and admin staff can request to set up a campaign page through EducationMatters. Campaign donations can be received online via credit card, or by cheque. Contact info@educationmatters.ca to do this.
Option 03
Employer Gift Matching
Stretch your donation even further through an employee charity gift matching program such as Benevity. Search for EducationMatters as your charity of choice and use the projects listed to identify how you would like to direct your gift.
When you use a gift-match portal, your tax receipt will be issued by the contact listed on your tax receipt. EducationMatters typically receives gifts made via third-party portals about 4-6 weeks afterward.
