EducationMatters offers meaningful award opportunities that prepare students for life after high school. By creating an account on the Student Award Application Portal, students can explore available awards and complete the General Award Application Form to determine eligibility.
Who’s eligible for student awards
- Must be 20 years of age or younger as of September 1 of current year
- Must not already be attending a post-secondary institution
- Must be attending a CBE, CCSD, or other eligible Calgary school
Students who have already graduated from high school are ineligible to apply for EducationMatters awards. Students must apply in their Grade 12 year, even if they are taking a gap year or not attending post-secondary immediately following graduation.

Information for Scholarship Coordinators
Scholarship Coordinators support students through the scholarship process by sharing information, answering questions, and reviewing applications. You’ll empower students to apply and ensure they feel supported as they plan for life after high school.
Role of a Scholarship Coordinator
- Promote EducationMatters awards and review scholarship applications with your students
- Provide students with information regarding available scholarships and answer questions regarding the application process and/or review applications with students before submission
- Complete Average Grade Calculations for applicants
- Confirm Student Information
