Canadian Forces Family Scholarship
The SaskTel Pioneers is a network of volunteers who effect immediate, tangible change in local communities. One of the pillars of support that the Pioneers aim to provide is to the Canadian Armed Forces. This scholarship was established to support children or dependents of current or former members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Eligibility
Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma and are in good academic standing. Applicants must be a child or dependent of a current or former serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and must provide proof of parent or guardian’s service in the CAF such as a copy of a Military Service Identification Card, a Veteran’s Service Card, or a Certificate of Service.
Applicants must exemplify good character through demonstrated involvement or support in the school and/or community. Applicants are required to submit one letter of reference. The letter may be provided by a community leader representing a community-based organization or a school official, and should speak to the applicant’s leadership, volunteerism and involvement in the community.
Selection will be based on volunteerism and the reference.

Students can apply by creating an account in EducationMatters’ Student Award Application Portal. Applicants should check with their guidance office for more information and are encouraged to discuss their application with the Scholarship Coordinator at their high school.
Selection & Payment
Recipients are selected and notified by June. Payments will be made to the recipient’s respective high school for distribution to the student.
