Over the past twenty years a wonderful community leader named Ernie Tsu has coached the SR Girls Volleyball Team at Western Canada High School alongside school staff.  This year he decided to retire from this volunteer position. To honor the unwavering commitment and leadership Ernie has exemplified, the community of parents, former students, and teachers have established the Ernie Tsu Leadership Award.

This award will be open to a girl (or girls, depending on amount raised) who have played on the SR Girls team and displayed leadership qualities endorsed and encouraged by Ernie throughout his time as head (volunteer) coach of the SR Girls Volleyball Team at Western Canada High School.

Preference to a student-athlete going on to play volleyball in a post-secondary setting, but not required to be playing volleyball – just going to school somewhere at an accredited institution. Academics and volleyball skills will be considered, but the primary focus of this scholarship will be awarding players with exceptional leadership attributes.
