Campaign
Sherwood School Physical Space
DONATE HERE
Our school is committed to fostering an environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported. To achieve this, we are seeking funding to enhance our physical spaces in ways that promote emotional well-being, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging for all learners.
A thoughtfully designed school environment can positively impact student engagement, behavior, and overall mental health. By making strategic improvements to our learning and shared spaces, we aim to create a setting that is not only functional but also affirming and responsive to the diverse needs of our school community.
Funds from this grant will support the purchase of materials and tools that contribute to a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Flexible seating options (e.g., wobble stools, bean bag chairs, floor cushions) to accommodate different learning styles and physical needs.
- Fidget tools and sensory items to support focus and regulation for students with sensory processing needs or attention challenges.
- Personal whiteboards and whiteboard markers to encourage student voice and engagement in collaborative and independent work.
- Motivational decals and affirming quotes in high-traffic areas such as bathrooms and hallways to promote positive self-talk and inclusion.
- Adjustable or ambient lighting solutions to create calm, soothing environments that reduce stress and sensory overload.
- Indoor plants and natural elements to bring warmth and vibrancy to learning spaces while supporting mental well-being.
- Designated calm corners or wellness spaces equipped with soft seating and sensory tools for students needing a break or emotional regulation.
These enhancements will not only improve the aesthetic of our school but will also create a more supportive and responsive environment where students and staff feel a stronger sense of connection, security, and community.
