Dr. Roberta Bondar School is raising funds for the development of outdoor school learning space and learning area. Inspired by Indigenous history and natural elements of the earth this space has been designed to sit between our two existing playgrounds and will feature:
- – Tiered boulder seating “amphitheatre-like” classroom space
- – Medicine wheel garden
- – Graffiti wall for student murals and art projects
- – Rundle pathways and boulder retaining wall
- – More trees and shrubs
This gives our students a great environment to take their classroom learning outside. An outdoor learning space was always part of the original wish list for the playground area, and a design has been in the works for years. We are finally ready to break ground, and Phase One is slated to be completed this summer! This space will be a wonderful addition for our school and for the larger community.
For every $250 you donate, you can choose to have a personalized Legacy Star added to decorate our school fence. These engraved stars will be permanently affixed to the school fences and will cherish a great memory for all those who attended Dr. Roberta Bondar School. You can have your family name, child’s name or a small quote engraved on it. You can look out for the stars at the beginning of the next school year. You may also choose to not have a star and still contribute to our project with less than a $250 donation, or donate and opt to not have a star.
