Tylena Readwin Memorial Award

Open to students registered in grade 12 at Bowness High School who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants are required to share their story through a letter, video, comic strip, art portfolio/project or another creative demonstration describing the "turnaround" they have demonstrated in their life and highlighting how this scholarship will help them pursue their passion and achieve their dreams. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need. Applicants with financial need should provide a separate "statement of financial need" explaining their financial situation/circumstances. Applicants are also required to include a note of recommendation from a teacher, counsellor, school administrator or a community member (including, but not limited to an employer, social worker, medical professional or leader representing a community-based organization) speaking to the student's demonstrated "turnaround." Selection will be based on applicant's story, demonstrated turnaround and improvement and, where applicable, financial need.
