Eligibility

Open to students registered in grade 12 at Forest Lawn High School who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must have marks sufficient for entrance into their chosen program of post-secondary study. Applicants are required to submit an essay of approximately 500 words or a video outlining: The challenges/adversity you have overcome; How you have grown and learned from these challenges; How you will make the world a better place. Selection will be based on the essay or video.

You can apply by creating an account in our Student Award Application Portal. Applicants should check with their guidance office for more information and are encouraged to discuss their application with the Scholarship Coordinator at Forest Lawn High School.

Selection & Payment

Recipients will be notified by September. Selection will be made by a committee consisting of the donor and at least two representatives from EducationMatters. To claim the award, within one (1) year of notification of award the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study including vocational, apprenticeship, trades, technical or post-secondary institutions. Payment will be made to the post-secondary institution.
