Friesens Yearbook Award

Open to Grade 11 and 12 students at Henry Wise Wood High School who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the Yearbook Program through photography and/or design, consistently contributing meaningful, high-quality work. Applicants are dedicated to their personal growth, actively engaging in coaching and pursuing self-directed learning to strengthen their skills.

Applicants will have also gone above and beyond to support others, showing genuine care for new members and helping foster a welcoming, collaborative environment.

Reliable, approachable, and easy to work with, they represent the program with professionalism and positivity whenever they are out on assignment. Their dedication, initiative, and character make them a truly deserving recipient of this award.

Students are required to submit a written statement of no more than 500 words describing why they feel they are deserving of this award, their contribution and commitment to the Yearbook Program (through photography and/or design, consistently contributing meaningful, high-quality work) and how participating in the Yearbook Program contributed to their personal growth.

Selection will be based on the written statement and demonstrated commitment/dedication to the Yearbook Program.

Students can apply by creating an account in EducationMatters’ online portal. Applicants should check with their guidance office for more information and are encouraged to discuss their application with the Scholarship Coordinator at their high school.
