Eligibility: Open to students registered in grade 12 at Forest Lawn High School who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must have demonstrated academic progress in grade 12 or from grade 10 through 12, and marks sufficient for entrance to a post-secondary area of study. Applicants must have demonstrated financial need. Volunteer and/or leadership activities in school and/or community and/or athletic achievement are considerations of this award. Applicants are required to submit one letter of reference. Letters may be provided from a school official, employer, or a community leader representing a community-based organization. Selection will be based on academic progress, financial need and leadership. Apply: Online application available at www.educationmatters.ca. Applicants should check with their guidance office for more information and are encouraged to discuss their application with the Scholarship Coordinator at their high school. Selection & Payment: School-specific. Recipients will be notified by September. The award must be taken up within fifteen months from the date of high school graduation. The recipient must be registered in any eligible program of study leading to a degree, certificate or diploma in a post-secondary institution, or to a study of trades (including vocational or technical) in Canada.
