Eligibility
Open to students registered in grade 12 at Lord Beaverbrook High School who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma and are planning to pursue a career in the electrical or plumbing industry. Applicants are required to submit a written essay of no more than 500 words or a video of no longer than two minutes sharing why they believe they are deserving of this award and why they are passionate about pursuing a career in the electrical or plumbing industry . One letter of reference is required that outlines the student’s aptitude towards their intended career path and/or their character with respect to education and dedication to their studies. Letters may be provided by a member of the school staff (teacher, administrator, specialist, counsellor). Selection will be based on essay/video and reference letter. Financial need may also be a consideration for the award.

Complete the online application. Applicants should check with their guidance office for more information and are encouraged to discuss their application with the Scholarship Coordinator at their high school.
Selection & Payment
Recipients will be notified by September. Recipients will be selected/recommended by staff at Lord Beaverbrook High School, including a representative from EducationMatters. A list of finalists will be presented to the donor who may be involved in the final selection. To claim the award, the recipient must be registered in an electrical or plumbing post-secondary program in Canada within 1 year of notification of the award. Payments are made to the post-secondary/educational institution.
