Types of Gifts

EducationMatters believes in giving our students the best possible experience. That is why we are putting the ‘public’ back into public education. By supporting EducationMatters you are building a legacy for Calgary’s students. Every gift made is part of the solution to giving our students what they need to be successful in life.

Below you will find many different giving options you can choose from. No matter the size or type of gift, or where it is directed you will be helping to enrich and enhance the experience of Calgary’s public education students.


Cash and Cheque Donations

Cash donations can be made online by clicking here. Alternatively, cheques (made payable to EducationMatters) can be sent via mail. Please include our Donation Form with your donation. Cheuqes may be sent to:

A representative from EducationMatters will call you to verify your donation has been received.


Tribute/Legacy Gifts

Tribute Gifts are a way of honouring the memory of a loved one or esteemed colleague and can also recognize a special person for a personal reason (e.g. birthday, anniversary, retirement, graduation, event speaker etc). To donate fill out the Tribute Gift Donation Form or click the donate button below to give a secure online gift.

Your Legacy Gift has the opportunity to have an impact today and continue providing quality public education for students throughout Calgary tomorrow. What is a Legacy Gift? It is a gift that allows you to contribute to your community and invest in what you closely value. This gift is also described as a Planned Gift. A Legacy Gift needs to be planned with family and appropriated professionals. You may choose to make your gift during your lifetime or through your will/estate.

Gifts of Shares or Stock Options

EducationMatters welcomes your donation of publicly traded shares and stock options. For more information speak to your financial advisor, visit the Canada Revenue Agency website for more information and contact us to discuss your wishes.


Fundraising Event

Organizing a fundraising event (e.g. garage sale, alumni reunion, dinner or other event) is an excellent way to raise money for public education. Read our guidelines and complete our Event Registration Form. Please contact us for review and approval before the event.
