The purpose of this award is to motivate a deserving female-identifying student in Grade 12 to prepare for University or other post-secondary education, who might otherwise be discouraged from doing so by reason of financial need.

Eligibility

Open to students registered in Grade 12 who identify as female and are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents, have academic marks sufficient for entrance to their chosen program/area of study and demonstrate financial need.

Emphasis will be placedĀ on community service as revealed by the applicant’s participation in non-academic activities in the school and community.

Selection will be based on community service , financial need and scholastic achievement.

Selection & Payment

Recipients are selected by September. The EducationMatters Selection Committee may also include the donor or their representative. To claim the award, within two (2) years of notification of award, the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post- secondary study in Canada or an eligible skilled trades or apprenticeship program. Payment will be made to the post-secondary institution.
