The Singleton Family Endowment Fund Award was established to provide financial assistance for well-rounded students involved in many and diverse aspects of the school and/or community and who require financial assistance to undertake post-secondary studies.

Field of Study
Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must have demonstrated academic progress and have a minimum 75% GPA in grades 10, 11 and 12. Applicants must have demonstrated positive citizenship qualities as revealed by the participation in non-academic activities for the school and/or community. In addition, the applicant must have held a part-time job and/or summer employment as partial evidence of financial need. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents and must be a resident of the province of Alberta.
Applicants are required to submit an original essay describing their intentions and aspirations for the course or program of study they are pursuing. The essay should reflect on requirements for success in pursuing post-secondary education at the institution they plan to attend. The essay must be no more than 500 words in length (one page, typed or printed).
Two letters of recommendation are required. Letters may be provided from a school official, employer, or a community leader representing a community-based organization, and will attest to the applicant’s general community participation, extra- curricular activities and determination to succeed.
Selection will be based on academic merit, financial need, essay and references.

Selection & Payment
Recipients are selected by September. To claim the award, within two (2) years of notification of award the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post- secondary study of at least two years duration. Payments are made to the post- secondary institutions.
