Eligibility

Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma.

Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have attained marks sufficient for entrance into the post-secondary program of their choice with extra consideration being provided to high academic achievement. Community involvement/volunteerism is also a requirement.

Applicants are required to submit an original essay, of no more than 500 words in length, describing “what you know about True Buddha Pai Yuin Temple and your thoughts on the term “karma”.

A letter of reference from a community-based organization that the applicant has been involved with or volunteered for is also required and should speak to the applicant’s volunteerism.

Selection will be based on financial need, academics, community involvement, reference and the essay.

Selection & Payment

Recipients are selected and notified in June and may be invited to attend a celebration event at the temple within three (3) months of notification. Selection will be made by representatives of EducationMatters and True Buddha Pai Yuin Temple.
