The EducationMatters Career Pathways Student Award encourages able and deserving students to pursue further education or training beyond high school.
Calgary Board of Education (CBE)
Field of Study
Vocational, Technical, or Trades-Related Studies
Open to CBE students who will be completing the requirements of a high school diploma or certificate of achievement in the year of application.
Students must have attended at least two full years of senior high school in the Calgary Board of Education and demonstrate financial need. Applicants are required to provide a statement outlining their need for financial assistance.
Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 10 vocational, technical or trades related credits through Career and Technology Studies courses, Knowledge & Employability (K&E) courses, Work Experience or RAP.
Online application available at www.educationmatters.ca. Applicants should check with their guidance office for more information and are encouraged to discuss their application with the Scholarship Coordinator at their high school.
Selection & Payment
Recipients are selected by September. To claim the award, within two (2) years of notification the recipient must be registered full-time in an eligible program of at least (1) one year duration, including vocational, technical or post-secondary institutions. Payments are made to the post-secondary institutions.
