Scholarship Coordinators

The information contained on these pages will assist you in helping students apply for EducationMatters student awards, processing their application forms, and completing the Application Submissions Forms for EducationMatters awards.

What Tasks Do Scholarship Coordinators Complete?

SYSTEM WIDE AWARDS

1. Review the scholarship applications with your students – please ensure students complete the correct application form for all awards. This is an important element, in order for us to process the awards in a timely, accurate manner.

2. Complete Section VI of each application –  Applicant’s Average Grade Calculation for Grades 10, 11 and 12  must be completed. This section must also be signed by the Scholarship Coordinator. Check to ensure all other signatures (applicant and parent/guardian) are included as well.

Standard Criteria for Average Grade Calculation:  Averages for each grade should be calculated based on the course requirement criteria for the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship.

NOTE 1: Not all EducationMatters awards require that the applicants be taking only academic-level courses. For the purposes of our awards and Average Grade Calculation, Science 14/24 and Math 10-3/20-3/30-3 may count in the “At least two of the following” category. Please encourage students taking these courses to apply for all awards for which they are eligible.

NOTE 2: the grade average (%) requirements on this sample document DO NOT apply to EducationMatters; we will abide by the individual Terms of Reference for each of our awards in this respect. We are merely using the Rutherford as a standard method to calculate the averages for each grade.

3. Complete each Application Submission Form

There are two (2) different Application Submission Forms  for Scholarship Coordinators to complete. You can access both forms below:
