DONATE NOW and help schools establish their robotics programs for the 2019/2020 school year!
The cost to start a robotics program in a high school or junior high school is between $2,400 – $2,600. We need your help to raise these funds so that schools with fewer resources can establish their robotics program for the 2019/2020 school year!
What are the benefits of having a Robotics program in schools?
Robotics programs unite students from all walks of life as they design, build, wire, and program competition robots. Outside of developing the practical skills required to produce a functioning robot to compete against other student teams, they are also developing the work ethic, logical thinking, and flexibility that will help to make them future leaders in whatever field they choose.
Investing in robotics programs in our schools will allow students to develop skills that will prepare them for success in their future careers, whether in a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) field or not. It provides students with both social and academic opportunities that broaden their horizons and provides a meaningful extracurricular activity that they would otherwise not be able to access. This is an investment in our future community leaders and an easy way to level the playing field for students being educated in Calgary public schools – please join us in providing an enriched education and brighter futures for all of our students!
How do donations help?
For schools in affluent areas, the startup and maintenance costs are achievable through parental contributions and school society fundraising, but those schools where families are experiencing financial challenges, struggle to provide the same opportunities for their students. We all lose when our young people are not given the chance to find their talents and passions. Providing equitable opportunities for all students contributes to relieving the cycle of poverty that many families in our city experience.
ProjectMatters initiatives are non-core educational enhancements that specifically address our priorities. Your donation is valuable! If we are unable to achieve the fundraising goal, we promise to honour your generosity and use your donation to fund STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives.
