DONATE NOW to ensure Niitsitapi will have playing equipment in time for the 2019/2020 school year!

The Niitsatapi Learning Centre is located in one of Calgary’s less affluent SE communities, where there are few age appropriate play spaces. With your support, we can provide safe and nurturing play areas for these young Indigenous students! Niitsitapi’s current outdoor play equipment has been deemed unsafe and removed; without community support these preschoolers will have no outdoor play area for the 2019/2020 school year.

What’s the significance of having play equipment?
Research has proven that play is an important part of the education process for young children and providing the resources they need to launch their introduction to school, sets them up for success now and into the future.

What is the Niitsitapi Learning Centre?
The Niisitapi Learning Centre is a unique CBE educational institution for Indigenous students from preschool up to grade 3. The Centre teaches the Alberta Program of Studies through a diversity of First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives and experiences.

How do donations help?
The children living and learning in this community are bright, engaged, and full of potential but have fewer opportunities than their peers in other neighbourhoods simply by virtue of economic circumstance. Invest in these students today and you will see returns for generations to come!

ProjectMatters initiatives are non-core educational enhancements that specifically address our priorities. Your donation is valuable! If we are unable to achieve the fundraising goal, we promise to honour your generosity and use your donation to provide assistance to the Niitsitapi Learning Centre.
