Nelson Mandela High School (NMSH) is getting creative with socially distanced learning this semester with the addition of Photo 10, 20, & 30 to the lineup of courses available to students!
Photography is a great way to allow students to explore mathematical, engineering, technological, and scientific concepts through an artistic lens, and as a Career and Technology Studies (CTS) course it also offers students opportunities to develop skills that can be applied in their daily lives and improve their employability following high school.
To enable students to maintain social distance and avoid the sharing of materials NMHS needs to add 20 more Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras to its program. The school is accepting both new and used digital cameras for student use: ideally cameras should have removable lenses and be compatible with SD cards or compact flash cards.
Donated cameras will allow this program to flourish now and well into the future – please contact Helen Nowlan-Walls if you have a suitable device to contribute to this new initiative.
