ELIGIBILITY:

Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma and are pursing post-secondary education. Preference will be given to
students attending institutions in Alberta.

Selection will be made with equal consideration being given to:
1) Applicants with high academic achievement in high school STEM courses (including robotics and trades) who ALSO;
2) Demonstrate leadership (through community volunteerism, student leadership and/or other indications of true, active leadership) as evidenced by volunteer activities and the required reference letters AND;
3) Demonstrate commitment to a STEM related career path.

Two letters of reference are required. One reference letter should be from a school official (eg: teacher or administrator) supporting the applicant’s academic achievement, commitment to a STEM related career path, and self-declaration as Indigenous, if applicable. The second letter should be from a community leader (eg: volunteer coordinator, organization staff or other community connection) supporting the applicant’s leadership qualities and community involvement.

SELECTION & PAYMENT:

Recipients will be selected and notified by September. Payment will be made in one lump sum to the recipient’s post-secondary institution upon official confirmation of enrollment. To claim the award the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study within eighteen (18) months of notification. Preference will be given to students attending institutions in Alberta.
