Open to graduating students of Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School who have demonstrated support for their community through their thoughts, words, and deeds.
Academic excellence is not required but will be considered if there are multiple strong candidates. Preference will be given to Indigenous students.
Applicants are required to submit one letter of reference, and a short essay (under 500 words) about themselves, their efforts to help their community, and their hopes for the future.

Selection & Payment

School-specific; selection will be made by the staff of JCSHS, an EducationMatters representative, and the family of Joane Cardinal-Schubert. Recipients will be notified by September. To claim the award, within two (2) years of notification of award the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study in Canada. Payment will be made to the postsecondary institution.
