As our community becomes more global, our populations are changing and becoming more diverse. In order to be inclusive, it is important to support ELL* (English Language Learners) students and embrace diversity in our community.

*Note: ELL (English Language Learners) is the Calgary Board of Education's new and more inclusive term for students who are new to Canada and to the English language. However, EducationMatters will continue to use the term ESL (English as a Second Language) in the names of already established programs and funds on the website (such as the Enhancing ESL Education Fund).
