- First check the List of Awards for what awards you could apply.
- Check the Awards' Terms of Reference to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria and to determine what additional documents you will be required to include with your application.
- Reference the Awards Applicants Handbook tips and suggestions on successfully completing your application.
- Fill out the 2010 General Application for all SYSTEM WIDE awards. For any SCHOOL SPECIFC awards fill out the School Specific Application (attached to the Terms of Reference). Students should be sure to complete all required areas.
- Students applying for a student award that requires demonstrated financial need as a criterion must be sure to include the Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Tax Assessment form for each working member of your household for the income year(s) specified.
- Be sure to attach all required documents (e.g. essays, letters of references, transcripts). Please make sure your name is on all additional documents. For scholarships requiring essays, please make sure the name of the scholarship is visible. Submit your completed application package to the Scholarship Coordinator in your school.
- The deadline for most awards is May 30th to your school Scholarship Coordinator. Applications that are incomplete or received after the deadline will not be considered in the award competition.

Please be sure to write a letter of thanks to the donor that made your award possible. You may address the letter 'To Whom it May Concern' and send in care of EducationMatters. We will ensure that your letter of thanks is forwarded on your behalf.
