2010 Grant Application

Submitting a grant application

  • Please review EducationMatters granting criteria before completing the form.
  • Read our application instructions and prepare the information you will require to apply .
  • Select 2010 Program Grant Application, complete the form, save it under your Program/Organization or School Name and submit.


Instructions for completing the Application form

We recommend that you read these tips before you begin - this will help you prepare your answers and fill out the application form more easily. 

Some general tips when filling out the application form

  • For questions requiring text entry, answer clearly, concisely and in point form. This will make your request easier to review and evaluate.
  • All questions must be answered. If a question does not apply to you, please mark N/A.
  • This form is a protected word document. Fill in the grey boxes with your information

    Saving the file:
  • Save the file by the name of your Program/Organization or School before emailing it to us.

    Provide the following information for your organization:
  • FULL LEGAL name.
  • Primary contact person regarding this request and their role.
  • Telephone number and extension (if applicable).
  • Fax number (if applicable).
  • Current email address.
  • If your organization has a website, include the URL or web address.
  • Address of organization – enter complete street address and correct postal code.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are a registered charity, you must enter your organization's Registered Charitable Number. If you are a CBE school or department, and do not know the CBE registered charitable number, just write CBE. If you do not know your organization's registration number, contact your organization's executive director or accountant.

    On the form you will be asked to provide the following information:

    • Program's mission, vision or purpose – key priorities.
    • Program's purpose; what are the educational, social issues or needs being addressed; how does this program serve to enhance public education?; does it align with the mandate and focus of EducationMatters?; address the opportunities, needs and issues identified in your program and the expected outcomes; identify the students directly impacted by the program.
    • Collaboration – what other organizations are collaborating with you on this program; is this program an expansion of a program currently in place or a replication?
    • Program's evaluation and challenges – describe the evaluation process and list all major non-financial challenges of the initiative.
    • Community engagement – what opportunities are there for significant donor, funder, family and/or broader community engagement.
    • Are funds required in the future to sustain this initiative?
    • Summary budget - please summarize the committed or potential funding sources INCLUDING the amount requested from EducationMatters and all high level expenses.
