Timelines:

January-September:  Grant applications are accepted (see application deadline below).  

Early October:  Applications are screened for the EducationMatters Grants Committee and reviewed by the Committee.  Those program applications that are screened-into a short list may be asked to provide more detail as required. 

Late October:  Short-listed applications will be ranked by the Grants Committee for funding consideration. Typically, grants are awarded in amounts from $5,000 to $25,000 and total dollars granted are determined by amounts available in EducationMatters' funds.

Mid November: Final program grants are approved by the Committee, and submitted to the EducationMatters Board of Governors for ratification. 

December: Successful applicants will be notified and awarded their grants before December 31.

Program Grant Application Process:

EducationMatters is pleased to invite schools and charitable organizations to consider applying for financial support for programs that enhance public education. Application deadline for 2010 is Thursday, September 30th. 

1. Letter of Intent: Should your organization wish to apply for a program grant from EducationMatters for 2010, please contact us well in advance of the application deadline identifying the nature and focus of your proposal, the student population served, and the type and level of funding required. EducationMatters staff will provide feedback and guidance as to the appropriateness of the request and recommendations as to how you should proceed. 2. If your proposal meets our criteria, then fill in the 2010 Program Grant Application. 

3. Please submit your completed application no later than the 2010 application deadline date of Thursday, September 30, 2010.  Or if you are unable to provide an electronic copy, you can fax a copy to 403-294-8126 or mail a signed original to: EducationMatters, 515 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, Alberta, T2G 2L9, Attention: Pamela Cook.
